The Person Behind the Camera
Headshots On Location is Jim Zielinski. When you book, the photographer who answers is the same one who shows up, sets up, and directs the session. One person, start to finish. On larger team shoots an assistant comes along to keep the line moving and the day on schedule.

Over 15 Years Behind the Lens
Jim has worked professionally in photography and video for more than 15 years across South Florida. He began capturing headshots at different locations in 2012. What that experience really buys you is comfort. Most people show up a little nervous, so the job is to read that quickly, keep the room relaxed and unhurried, and direct the session so it feels more like an easy conversation than a photo shoot. When you feel at ease, it shows, and that is what makes the final headshot look like you.
Gear and lighting
A Full Studio, Set Up Just for You
The setup is a proper portable studio: professional lighting, a clean backdrop, and pro camera bodies and lenses. It fits in a space about 10 by 15 feet and runs off a standard outlet, so the same controlled, consistent light happens in a conference room that you would get in a studio.
Every session is shot tethered: each frame lands on a monitor beside you at full size, so you are looking at the actual photograph rather than a thumbnail on the back of a camera. If something is not working, we see it while the lights are still up and fix it there.

Very few people feel natural in front of a camera, and no one is expected to. The whole session is directed. You get simple, specific cues on posture, angle, and expression, so you are never left standing there guessing what to do with your hands.
The result is a photo that looks like you, not a stiff version of you. You see the shots on a monitor as they happen, so there are no surprises at delivery.

Common questions
How does a session actually run?
Jim arrives about 30 minutes before the start time with the full portable studio and sets up in the space you provide. Each person is photographed for 5 to 15 minutes, directed the whole way, and every frame appears on a monitor as it is taken.
What do you need from our office?
Approx 10 x 15 ft of floor space and one standard electrical outlet. A conference room, a break room, or any quiet corner works. For a team, a running order of who is being photographed and roughly when. Nothing else.
How many people can you photograph in an hour?
About 4 to 12 people, depending on how many frames each person wants. Use that to size the window you book, and people can sign up for slots or simply walk over between them.
Can I see the photos while we are shooting?
Yes, and this is the part most people are surprised by. Every session is shot tethered, so each frame lands on a monitor at full size as it is taken. If something is not working we see it and fix it while the lights are still up, instead of discovering it at delivery.
When do I get the preview gallery?
The following business day. It is a private online gallery of the full set from your session, where you look through everything and mark the frames you want retouched.
When do the final retouched images arrive?
Within 2-3 business days of your selections. You get files sized for LinkedIn and other profiles, plus higher-resolution versions for print.
What does the retouching include?
Skin evened out, stray hairs and temporary blemishes cleaned up, nothing that makes you look like a different person. It is included on every final image rather than sold as an upgrade.
How does payment work?
A $50 deposit holds your date and comes off the session balance, so it is not an extra charge. Individual sessions start at $149. Team bookings are priced per person from $49 and billed on one invoice for the whole group rather than person by person.
